In The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, the Canberra Raiders secured an opening victory by defeating the Parramatta Eels 16-10 in an away game.

Parramatta took the lead early with a try from Joshuah Minhinnick, who crossed in the corner within the first six minutes. However, Canberra quickly responded when fullback Elijah Anderson scored, capitalizing on lock forward Hohepa Puru’s line-break.

At halftime, the score was tied at 6-6, but shortly after the break, Anderson scored again to give the Raiders a 10-6 lead. Although the Eels equalized through Zac Cini’s try, the Raiders took the lead again when Clay Webb powered his way to the try line, capitalizing on Parramatta’s weak goal-line defence, and scored the match-winning try.
