The first major competition of 2023 kicks off this Friday when the 2023 Cook Islands League Nines in Paradise kicks off.

Twelve teams across the Men’s, Women’s and Under 18’s categories will descend on the National Stadium in Nikao for the latest version of the annual tournament.

In the fiercely competed open men’s category, defending champions Tupapa Panthers lead Pool A which also has the Titikaveka Bulldogs and Arorangi Bears 2.

Pool B features club champions, the Avatiu Nikao Eels, as well the Arorangi Bears 1 and Ngatangiia Sea Eagles.

The Panthers defeated the Eels 23 – 19 in last year’s Men’s Nines Final.

In the women’s competition, defending champions, the Titikaveka Bulldogs will face the Arorangi Bears and Tupapa Panthers.

Ngatangiia Sea Eagles, Arorangi Bears and Tupapa Panthers will all feature in the U18 men’s competition.
