In a boost to the continued growth of Rugby League throughout the Philippines, the Pambansang Ragbi Liga ng Pilipinas, was officially recognised by the Philippines National Olympic Committee (NOC) at the last General Assembly.
The decision in late May sees Rugby League officially recognised as a sport in the country, and the Pambansang Ragbi Liga ng Pilipinas as the sole National Sports Association and Governing body for the code in the country.
The decision will assist with the Pambansang Ragbi Liga ng Pilipinas in gaining access to grants and government support, and as well expanding its domestic programmes.
