A record number of teams will take part in the 2022 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League (FSSRL) Vodafone Trophy Championships, with over 80 teams from 36 schools taking part in the tournament.
After a record 2021, the FSSRL President, Akuila Vute, said the continued growth of the competition has been fantastic.
“It’s finally here, the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League (FSSRL) Rugby League Championships kick off in the coming week. Over the last 2 years we’ve been divinely blessed to be able to host and complete both seasons and this has been a great factor to growing interests from mews schools.”
“Our national executive committee will meet this week to finalise our preparations and announce an exciting program for this season with an even more inclusive program for girls in schools.”
The Ministry of Education earlier on Friday 22 April release information for the return of organised sports competitions to schools with the FSSRL to confirm competition details shortly after.
The 2022 season will see competitions again run in the Under 15, 17 and 19s age groups for boys and girls.
