Bidesi Park in Suva will host the opening leg of the inaugural Fiji National Nines Series this Saturday.
The tournament will see sixteen Men’s teams and seven Women’s teams take part in the tournament, with the top sides to qualify for the National Final on April 16.
The Fiji National Nines Series is a new Nines competition which will feature all 45 Fiji NRL Vodafone Cup Men’s and Women’s teams. The opening rounds of the competition have been split based upon geography, with the eastern based clubs to play this weekend, before the western clubs play at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on April 9.
The top eight Men’s teams and top four Women’s teams to progress to the National Final, whilst the top teams from that event will play in the Fiji Cups Nines tournament later this year.
The Nabua Broncos and Vusu Raiders will enter two teams in the Men’s event, whilst the Police Sharks will enter two sides in the Women’s event.
