Defending Laurie Daley and Andrew Johns Cup champions, the Central Coast Roosters, have kicked off their 2022 campaigns with two large wins over the Newcastle-Maitland Region Knights at Morry Breen Oval over the weekend.
The Roosters have again shown they’ll be one of the teams to beat, running out 22 – 0 winners in the Laurie Daley Cup and 28 – 6 in the Andrew Johns Cup.
Runners up in the Laurie Daley Cup last year, the Northern Tigers, kicked off their campaign with a 32 – 28 loss to the North Coast Bulldogs, whilst the Illawarra-South Coast Dragons, who were runners up in the Andrew Johns Cup, defeated the Western Rams 32 – 10.
