The Paga Panthers will face off against the Hanuabada Hawks for a spot in the 2021 Port Moresby Rugby Football League Women’s Grand Final when Week Two of the Finals Series kicks off this weekend.
The top two teams of the competition will face off in the Major Semi Final at Port Moresby’s National Football Stadium, with the winner progressing straight to the Grand Final in two weeks, whilst the runners up will face the winner of the Minor Semi Final between the Royals and Sisters.
The Royals qualified for the Minor Semi Final following a 22 – 6 win over Tarangau last weekend. Boasting PNG Sevens international, Marie Biyama, the Royals raced out to an 8 – 0 lead before Anna Forova crossed for Tarangau to keep their Finals hopes alive.
That was the last time Tarangau scored, with the team scoring 14 unanswered points to secure the win, including another try to Biyama.
For the Sisters, they were forced to play their Elimination Final mid week, recording a 12 – 4 win over Magani.
