The inaugural Societe Pastorale De La Loumpate Vanuatu Provins Blong Orijin series is set to kick off this Saturday at Korman Stadium in Port Vila.

The new Vanuatu Rugby League representative competition will feature sides from various provinces across the Pacific nation, playing in a nine-a-side tournament.

The provinces represented in the Men’s draw include the Malampa province, who will represent players from the islands of Malakula, Ambrym and Paama, the Penanma province, who will represent the islands of Ambae, Maewo and Pentecost, the Sanma Province, who will represent Espiritu Santo and Malo, and hosts, the Shefa Province, who will represent the islands of Epi and Efate.

There will also be a Port Vila Barbarians team, designed to represent players from the Tafea and Torba provinces, as well as players who miss out on the other four sides.
