The São Paulo Raiders have collected their first win of the 2021 Brasilian Men’s Premiership season following their 50 – 18 win over the Rio Sharks last weekend.
Lead by forwards, Liam Piacente and Vinícius Hideo, and Olympian, André Silva, the Raiders were too strong for the home team, racking up the first half century of the season.
The win sees the Raiders move to the top of the South-East Pool, leapfrogging Taubaté who defeated the Sharks the week before.
Meanwhile in the Southern Pool, the Maringa Hawks continued their undefeated start to the 2021 season, after they defeated Umuarama 38 – 18. The win means Maringa is guaranteed a spot in the Finals, with Umuarama and Urutau / São José dos Pinhais to battle it out for the second spots.
