The Highland Confederation has won the 2021 Kumul Petroleum National Schools Rugby League Championships Under 14 Division after the side defeated the Northern Confederate in Wednesday’s Final at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.

Papua New Guinea’s premier Schools competition will feature four divisions in 2021, Under 14s Boys, Under 16s Boys, Under 18s Boys and Under 18s Girls, with representative teams from the four PNG Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) Confederations (Northern, Southern, New Guinea Islands and Highlands) taking part in each.

In the inaugural day of the Championship, the Highlands progressed through the tournament thanks to wins over the Northern Confederation and New Guinea Island, only losing to Southern Confederation in their final group game of the day. Their opponents, Northern Confederate, defeated Southern and and New Guinea Islands to qualify.
