The 2021 PNG Digicel Cup Finals Series kicks off this Sunday with two massive Elimination Finals set to take place at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
Kicking off the Double Header, the in-form Waghi Tumbe will face last year’s Minor Premiers, the Rabaul Gurias.
The Tumbe, who missed out on a top two finish by on for and against (3 points behind Mendi, 24 behind Lae), are on an eight game winning streak and face a Gurias side that only scraped into the 2021 Finals.
Following the Tumbe v Gurias match, the Port Moresby Vipers will face last year’s Premiers, the Hela Wigmen.
The Vipers come into the Finals on a six match winning streak which includes wins over the Lae Tigers, Mendi Muruks and Hela Wigmen, whilst the Wigmen only won one of their last five starts.
The winners of both matches will face off next week in the Minor Semi Final.
