The South Ikebukuro Rabbitohs have defeated the Abiko Ducks in the third round of the Japanese National Cup : East Division in Katsushika City over the weekend.
The more experienced Rabbitohs were too strong for the Chiba based Ducks, running out 50 – 10 victors at Niijuku Mirai Park, allowing the side to move into second place in the East Division ladder following their round one loss to the Mitaka Spartans.
The 2021 Japanese National Cup competition features five teams broken into two geographic pools. The East Division is based around Tokyo and contains the Rabbitohs, Ducks and Mitaka Spartans. The West Division is based around Osaka and features the Kansai Kaminari and Kamisenryu Sea Turtles.
The top two team from each division will play in the National Final this August in Tokyo.
