AUCKLAND WOMEN’S PREMIERSHIP:
Pt Chevalier 22 defeated Richmond 4
Pt Chevalier proved too good for Richmond in the qualifying semi-final. While there was only six points in it at the break, the Pirates powered home in the second spell. Richmond remain in the play-offs despite the defeat.
Ponsonby 30 defeated Te Atatu 0
Win by default. Te Atatu are eliminated from the play-offs, Ponsonby advance to next week.
AUCKLAND WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP:
Taniwharau 16 defeated Marist 8
Taniwharau remain top of the ladder after edging past a determined Marist in Huntly. The hosts scored three tries, with Honor Wilson converting twice.
Glenora 48 defeated Tuakau 14
Clementine Vaera ran in five tries for Glenora in a big win against Tuakau. Glenora led just 20-10 at the break before powering home in the second stanza.
Manukau 12 defeated Howick 10
Twelve unanswered points in the second half saw Manukau overcome Howick at Moyle Park. The Magpies were down 10-0 at half-time before coming back, with Faryn Fitialo scoring and Platinum Marsters converting to win the game with 10 minutes to go.
Otara 10 lost to Manurewa 48
Manurewa continued their strong run of form with a big victory under lights on Friday night. Both Ricshay Lemanu and Jodeci Joseph scored doubles in the win.
