The Te Aroha Eels and Toa Rugby League have kept their 2021 Wellington Premier One title hopes alive following wins in last weekend’s elimination Semi Finals.

In the opening Semi Final at Te Whiti Park in Waiwhetu, the Eels were too strong for the Porirua Vikings, running out 34 – 16 winners, whilst at Wainuiomata, competition newcomers, Toa, upset the Lions at home 18 – 16.

The two sides will now face the Whiti Te Ra Otaki and St George Dragons respectively in next weekend’s Preliminary Final to decide who will make the 2021 Wellington Premier Grand Final.

The 2020 Wellington Premier Grand Final was won by the Victoria Hunters, who defeated Whiti Te Ra Otaki 44 – 24 in the competition Final.
