The Moerewa Tigers have extended their undefeated start in the 2021 TaiTokerau season following a convincing 90 – 6 win over the Ngati Kahu Sharks in Tapia over the weekend.
The Tigers made it thirteen straight, keeping their five premiership point lead over the rest of the competition.
In other matches played, the Hikurangi Stags upset the Pawarenga Broncos 30 – 16 at Broadwood, whilst the Waipapakauri Bombers and Whangaroa Marlins Valley recorded large wins over the Kaikohe Lions and Kerikeri Mako respectively.
The TaiTokerau Rugby League will take a break next weekend due to the recent passing of Chairman Michael Salase, with all matches postponed.
The TaiTokerau Rugby League was established in 2015 to develop and promote Rugby League across the Northland District. The Senior competition features twelve teams.
