The South Ikebukuro Rabbitohs have won the 2021 Japanese Rugby League Toyoshima Mayor’s Cup held at Miyoshi Grand over the weekend.

The third edition of the Rugby League Tag tournament was capped to seven teams due to COVID-19 restrictions, with sides from across Tokyo taking part.

In the Premier Tag competition, the South Ikebukuro Rabbitohs were joined by the Wolves, Legend15 and Ariake clubs, whilst the Second Division featured the Raptors, Defenders and Bunnies teams. Players from the Matsudo, Tokyo Devils, Kurumi Academy and ATR also took part, joining the other competing teams.

Each team played each other once before the competition Finals. The Rabbitohs defeated the Wolves 4 – 2 in the Final.
