The new look University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) club competition is set to kick this weekend with twelve teams to take part in the competition.

In a shift from previous seasons, teams are based around the University’s faculties as the UPNG and PNGRFL work together to try and eliminate regionalism at tertiary institutes across Papua New Guinea.

Teams have been broken into three pools of four, with each team to play each other before the competition Finals.

Open Campus United won the recent UPNG Nines, defeating the UPNG Drugons in the Final and will start as one of the favourites in the competition.
