A Rarotonga mix team has won the 2021 Cook Islands ‘League in Paradise’ Women’s Nines tournament after defeating the Tupapa Maraerenga Panthers in the tournament Final at the National Stadium in Nikao.

The Rarotonga mix were one of four teams that took part in only the second Cook Islands Nines, with the Arorangi Bears and Wale – Pa Enua also joining the tournament.

The Arorangi Bears were the only team to defeat the Rarotonga side in the tournament, winning one of the final group matches 13 – 11. Rarotonga got their revenge the very next match, defeating the Bears 17 – 8 in the tournament Semi Final.
