Henson Park, Newtown is set to host the first match involving two South American representative teams when Chile takes on El Salvador.

Coordinated by the Latin Heat, the clash is the latest in the efforts of the organisation to help introduce Rugby League to Central and South America and will see a series of ex-pat and heritage players represent these two proud nations.

The clash will take place on June 11 and will see Peru take on Uruguay and Colombia take on Ecuador in two nine-a-side curtain raisers.

Since the Latin Heat’s inception the organisation has been successful in helping establish Rugby League competitions in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
